Police: LI Man Arrested After Drunk Driving With Newborn

WESTBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly drunk driving with a 3-week-old newborn baby in the car.

Juan Chimbo, 27, of Westbury was taken into custody after Nassau County police saw him driving erratically down Post Avenue at around 11:18 p.m. Sunday night, authorities said.

According to police, a 3-week-old newborn baby was found in the back seat of Chimbo's 2001 Honda. The child was in an unrestrained car seat.

Chimbo faces charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
