NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- There was a hospital clap-out Wednesday for an injured Newark police officer.
The 23-year-old officer left University Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

He was shot Tuesday night near 14th Avenue and 14th Street. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A suspect in the shooting is under arrest and the gun used was recovered. No details have been released on what led to the shooting.
