Newark-Bound Flight Makes Emergency Landing In London

LONDON (CBSNewYork) – A flight bound for Newark Liberty International Airport had to make an emergency landing Thursday in London.

Air Indian officials said a hoax bomb threat prompted the landing.

The Boeing 777 took off from Mumbai and was escorted to London's Stansted Airport, where it parked in an isolated area.

Officials said the plane took back off after authorities determined the threat was a hoax.
