FedEx Employee Accused Of Stealing iPhones At Newark Airport

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A FedEx employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing several iPhones at Newark Liberty International Airport, police said Thursday.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said DeAndre Camacho, 21, was arrested Thursday and charged with theft and criminal mischief.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 4.

Pentangelo said FedEx personnel called police to their facility at the airport after Camacho allegedly was caught bringing a cellphone out through security that he hadn't brought in.

Witnesses said Camacho had hidden other phones outside to pick up later. Police said five phones were recovered.

A FedEx spokeswoman said the company is cooperating with authorities.
