Newark Airport Air Train Hits Worker

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Newark Liberty International Airport's Air Train struck a worker and knocked him down to a lower catwalk.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Friday.

Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo says power was shut off to the track and emergency crews lowered the worker to the ground.

Pentangelo says the man sustained an injury to his left leg. He was taken to a hospital. The injury is not considered life-threatening.
