New Yorkers Prepare For Startlingly Cold Weather Ahead

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – While it may not be nice to fool Mother Nature, it's okay for her to fool us.

A polar vortex is on the way and AccuWeather says the real feel will be in the single digits.

"Well we're from New York so we're used to this. We don't need to get ready for it, it just comes," one woman told 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten.

"It might not be easy, it still might be cold, it still might suck, but what are you going to do? This is where we live," another said.

One man wearing a t-shirt Saturday did concede that he's not ready for what's in store.
