New Yorkers Hit The Streets, March Against Gun Violence
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- New Yorkers were vocal as they marched through East Flatbush and called for an end to gun violence, on Saturday.
City Councilman Jumaane Williams said that change has to happen now, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported.
"Unfortunately statistics in the NYPD say that shootings are spiking up. This is a blip that we want to make sure doesn't continue," he said.
Organizers of the 'Not In Our Hood' march want a number of measures including a law requiring that all bullets be micro-stamped so they can be traced.
Gama Droiville, 13, who was shot in the eye while standing on a street corner has a simple message.
"We just need to stop it," he said.
