FBI Probes Possible Hack Targeting New York Times Reporters

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The FBI was investigating late Tuesday after a possible hacking incident involving the New York Times.

CNN reported hackers believed to be working for Russian intelligence carried out cyberattacks on the Times and other U.S. news organizations. Officials told CNN the hack was likely part of a broader series of breaches that also focused on Democratic Party organizations.

There was no word late Tuesday on how many reporters might have been hacked.

The New York Times released a statement late Tuesday: "We are constantly monitoring our systems with the latest available intelligence and tools. We have seen no evidence that any of our internal systems, including our systems in the Moscow bureau, have been breached or compromised."
