New York Park Police Investigate Attempted Abduction At Harriman State Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police are searching for three men in connection with an attempted abduction of a child at Harriman State Park on Sunday.

Three boys, ages 5-8, were playing basketball at 6:54 p.m. when a van pulled up, New York State Park Police said.

There were three men in the van, and according to a witness they tried to grab one of the boys and drive off with him, police said.

The men were apparently scared off and drove off in the van without any of the children.

The three suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 30s. One was wearing a "Superman" shirt and a backward baseball cap, another a white shirt, and the third a red bandana, police said.

They were driving a burgundy Chrysler or Dodge minivan with a white New York state licence plate.

CBS 2's Lou Young will have much more on this story tonight at 5 p.m.
