Report: Knicks Agree To Deal With Former Michigan State Star Travis Trice
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Knicks are adding a potential piece to their backcourt in the form of a Final Four point guard.
New York agreed to terms with undrafted Travis Trice out of Michigan State on a partially guaranteed one-year deal, Yahoo! Sports reported Thursday.
Trice, who played for the Miami Heat during the summer league, averaged 15.3 points and 5.1 assists per game last season for Michigan State, which lost to eventual champion Duke in the national semifinals.
Trice is not expected to make the Knicks' roster, but could very well find himself on the club's D-League team in Westchester.
The Knicks are expected to carry three guards on the 2015-16 roster -- Jose Calderon, rookie Jerian Grant and D-League graduate Langston Galloway.
