Suspects Sought In Downtown New Rochelle Jewelry Store Heist

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for suspects behind an overnight jewelry store robbery in downtown New Rochelle.

Investigators said the burglars broke into New Rochelle Coin & Jewelry on Division Avenue by cutting a hole in the roof.

"A lot of stuff was taken, everything that's the most expensive stuff that could be taken was taken, gold jewelry," Amanda Pappas said.

Pappas is the owner's daughter. She estimated the value at over $1-million.

"My father has been here for over almost 35 years. We're very upset, it's a tragedy, we lost a lot of money," she said.

The store owner arrived in the morning and discovered merchandise was missing.
