Bus Fire Blocks Part Of New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Spur In Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- All lanes were blocked on the southbound New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Spur in Newark, after a bus caught fire Friday night.

The bus fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. near Exit 15E, close to Newark Liberty International Airport, officials told CBS2.

Video and photos from the scene showed what appeared to be a small bus completely engulfed in flames, with a massive plume of black smoke.

There were no reports of injuries. It was not immediately learned how many people were on the bus.

All lanes were blocked at the time of the accident while fire department put it out. By 9:30 p.m., the right lane remained blocked.
