Dog Stolen From Owner's Driveway In New Jersey Found At Animal Shelter

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) —A dog that was stolen from a driveway in New Jersey over the weekend has been reunited with its owner.

The dog's owner, Andrea Whitelock, said someone turned the Pomeranian in to an animal shelter, CBS2 reported Tuesday.

The dog, named Diamond, was taken from its driveway on Stanley Place in Hackensack on Saturday. Surveillance video showed a woman walking up the driveway, calling to the dog and then picking it up before walking away.

Whitelock had told CBS2 she was heartbroken when she realized Diamond, who she had let outside for a few minutes, was missing. But she was even more shocked when she checked her surveillance footage.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
