New Jersey Police Dashcam Captures Fireball Streaking Across Night Sky

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A fireball was caught on camera streaking across the night sky in New Jersey.

The scene was captured by the dashcam of a Hamilton Township police car early last Saturday.

It's a meteor, burning up as it enters the Earth's atmosphere.

The American Meteor Society confirmed the sighting after receiving numerous reports of the fireball along the East Coast.
