New Jersey Man Accused In 7 Bank Robberies

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An Ocean County man has been accused of robbing seven banks across New Jersey, federal authorities said.

Steven Wisnowski, 30, was expected to make his first court appearance in Newark Friday.

The Barnegat native allegedly targeted banks in Middlesex, Ocean and Monmouth counties between October 2013 and January 2014, according to a superseding complaint.

Authorities said Wisnowski wore hats, hooded jackets and wigs to conceal his identity. On two occasions, prosecutors allege Wisnowski hinted to tellers that he had a gun.

Police tracked Wisnowski's vehicle and waited to arrest him after they said he robbed the Fulton Bank in Edison back in January.
