4 Injured In New Jersey Boating Accident

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Four people were injured in a boating accident in New Jersey Saturday afternoon.

New Jersey State Police say the accident happened at 1:40 p.m. when the sport fishing boat ran aground near the south end of Long beach Island near Story Island.

Authorities say 13 people were aboard the 53-foot boat, and four received non-life threatening injuries.

The four people were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The victims suffered head, neck and back injuries. One person suffered a broken arm.

It is not known what caused the accident.

No other vessels were involved in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
