Fire Rips Through Apartment Building In New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Firefighters were out in the brutal cold Thursday night fighting a blaze in a New Brunswick apartment building.

The fire was first reported around 7:30 p.m. It was burning through a three-story brick apartment building on Throop Avenue.

Water from the fire department's hose quickly froze, covering the building and wires in an icy glaze.

The building was occupied, officials said, but no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross said it was helping about two dozen displaced residents.
