Nassau County Police: Teens Attacked, Robbed Man Walking Home

INWOOD, N.Y. (AP) -- Police on Long Island are looking for a group of teenagers who repeatedly struck a man in the head as he walked home.

The 36-year-old victim was attacked from behind at the corner of Brunswick Avenue and Doughty Boulevard at 11:55 p.m. Saturday.

The assailants struck him with an unknown object until he fell to the ground and then stole his cellphone and wallet before fleeing, police said.

The suspects are believed to be 15 to 18 years old, cops said.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of head and ankle injuries.

Police ask anyone with information about the attack to call 800-244-TIPS.
