Swastikas Found Scrawled At Nassau Community College For Fourth Time

EAST GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island were investigating Thursday night after swastikas were found scrawled in a Nassau County Community College building.

Officers were called around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday to the campus, at 1 Education Dr. in East Garden City, after a security officer found three swastikas scrawled on the B Cluster Building stair hand rail and on the wall, Nassau County police said.

The swastikas were about 8 inches long and scrawled in black ink, police said.

There have been three other bias graffiti incidents involving swastikas or anti-Semitic comments at the college in recent months, police said.

• Three swastikas were found drawn in green marker in the E Cluster building second floor men's room at 8:44 a.m. Oct. 15;

• Cleaning staff found two swastikas and an anti-Semitic comment on the wall of the men's room the Cluster D Building at 9:52 p.m. Oct. 28;

• Multiple swastikas were found drawn in blue marker on the walls and urinals in both men's rooms on the first and second floors of the E Building.
