Police: Nanny Forged New Jersey Family's Checks, Went On $37,000 Shopping Spree

FORT LEE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – A New Jersey nanny is under arrest, accused of stealing from the family that hired her last summer.

Gabriella Durso is accused of stealing a checkbook and credit card to forge more than 60 checks and go on a personal shopping spree.

In total, the 26-year-old is accused of stealing around $37,000 from the Fort Lee family.

She's been charged with several charges including theft by deception and forgery. Durso is due in court on May 29.
