MTA, Subway Riders Experience Rough Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's been a difficult week for the MTA.

Tuesday's subway delays during the evening rush were followed by more problems Wednesday night.

Fourteen lines were hit with service changes and delays Wednesday, according to DNAInfo.com. There were signal issues, reportedly switch problems, too.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane it has taken a beating from the weather.

One rider said it was a two-hour ride from Manhattan to Forest Hills, Queens.

Another tweeted a photo of a jammed platform with the plea "let's fix this."

Riders on the No. 2 train in Harlem at least had the option of switching to other trains.

"I took the local down to 23rd Street, so it took about an hour -- longest I've had in about two years," one man told Murnane.
