MTA: Staten Island Railway Car Derails, No Injuries Reported

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Staten Island Railway train car derailed Thursday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.

No injuries have been reported.

The last car of the four-car train derailed as it approached St. George Terminal, the MTA said.

Ninety passengers were aboard the train, transit officials said. Eight were on the car that derailed.

The passengers were removed from the train and escorted to the St. George station.

Service between St. George and Clifton was suspended in both directions Thursday afternoon.
