MTA Puts Vintage Subway Cars Back On Tracks For Yankees' Opening Day

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Some lucky subway riders en route to Yankee Stadium for Opening Day Monday may also get to take a trip back in time.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said a four-car "Nostalgia Special'' is scheduled to leave Grand Central Terminal at 11:30 a.m. and run non-stop to the stadium in the Bronx.

The 1917 Lo-V model cars were used by the subway system until the late 1960s, and feature rattan seats and incandescent light bulbs.

The Yankees are set to take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:05 p.m.
