MTA: No Fare Hike Until At Least 2022

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mass transit riders in New York City will not face fare hikes until at least 2022.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials announced Monday the fare increase will be pushed back a second time.

It was initially planned to be implemented in March, then November.

Now, they say raising fares this year would hurt the recovery of transit ridership, which fell sharply during the pandemic.
