Mount Vernon Teen Charged In 2 Rapes In 2014

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Authorities in Westchester have arrested a 15-year-old Mount Vernon boy on charges he abducted and raped an 11-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman at knifepoint on two occasions last year.

The teen, who is considered a juvenile offender, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of rape, kidnapping, sexual abuse and child endangerment.

The first attack happened on Oct. 20. Prosecutors say the woman was walking home from work when the teen forced her to a nearby elementary school and raped her.

The second attack happened on Dec. 4. Prosecutors say the teen abducted the 11-year-old girl while she was walking home from a Christmas concert at about 8 p.m. They say he took her to the same school and raped her in a two-hour attack before letting her go.

If convicted, the teen faces up to 10 years in prison.
