Adelso Espinal was traveling westbound in the far left lane on the Grand Central Parkway near 165th Street when police said the motorcycle hit a bump or something in the road. The bike then slid and Espinal became separated from it, landing in the middle lane.

At that point, police said a 71-year-old man in a Honda tried to avoid hitting Espinal, but was not successful.

Espinal was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital.

The driver of the car was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
