Police: Mother Arrested After Unattended Toddler Falls From Queens Fire Escape

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Queens mother is under arrest after her toddler fell from a second-floor fire escape onto the concrete below while she was left home alone, police said.

Yasmine Robert, 34, left her 4-year-old daughter at their 191st Street apartment while she went out to run errands on Sunday, authorities told 1010 WINS.

Police said when Robert returned home, she found the little girl outside with scratches on her face and legs.

The girl was taken to North Shore LIJ for evaluation, 1010 WINS reported.

Police said Robert was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child.
