Man Accused Of Luring Girl, 14, In Monmouth County, N.J.

FREEHOLD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect stood charged Thursday in connection with a troubling online luring case in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Bryan Sanderson, 24, of Middletown, was charged Aug. 18 with luring a 14-year-old girl last year using the social meeting site Kik, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said Thursday.

Sanderson was charged with luring a juvenile, endangering the welfare of a child, and violation of parole supervision for life.

He is already serving a sentence for a parole violation in the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Bordentown Township, but was to be transferred Thursday to the custody of the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township, prosecutors said.

Sanderson was to be held in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The latest charges stem from a traffic stop on Sept. 9, 2015, when Sanderson was found with an expired registration while he parked in a no parking zone.

In the car, police found Sanderson with a 14-year old girl, prosecutors said.

Child pornography images were later found on Sanderson's cellphone, prosecutors said.

If convicted on the luring charge, Sanderson could face up to 10 years in prison.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Michael Acquaviva of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office at (732) 431-7160 ext. 2233.
