20-Year-Old Model Found After Reported Missing In Brooklyn, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A missing 20-year-old woman who moved to New York from Mexico City just six months ago to pursue her modeling career has been found, police say.

The NYPD says Geraldine Mendez-Victoria has been taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but appears to be in good condition.

Police learned of her whereabouts after an early morning tipster told them she was spotted at Bellevue Hospital undergoing evaluation at the psych ward, WCBS 880's John Metaxas reported.

Mendez-Victoria left her Flatbush Avenue apartment in Lefferts-Gardens last Saturday and went to a party in Bushwick, 1010 WINS' Samantha Liebman previously reported.

Her father, Hugo Mendez, flew in Friday night to report his daughter missing after she didn't call or post online for days.

Her roommates said she was having a hard time adjusting to life in New York.

"She had a really negative impression of the city, everything's fake, everything's artificial, and it seemed she was taking it very, very much to heart," roommate Karina said.

More details following her discovery were not immediately known.
