Missing Man's Body Found In Water Near Whitehall Ferry Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The body of a man who was reported missing back in December was found floating near the Staten Island Ferry Whitehall Terminal in Lower Manhattan Wednesday.

Police were called to the vicinity of 4 South St., between the FDR Drive and Broad Street at the southern tip of Manhattan, after someone saw a person floating face up in the water, police said.

Officers upon arrival found Andreas Robbins, 25, unconscious and unresponsive in the water, police said.

Robbins was taken to Pier 16, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The New York City Medical Examiner's office will determine the cause of his death.

Police said Robbins, who lived in Stuyvesant Town, was reported missing back on Monday, Dec. 1.
