Minivan Driver Arrested Following Fatal Crash With Tractor-Trailer In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A minivan driver has been arrested following a fatal accident with a tractor-trailer in the Bronx.

Police claim the minivan involved in the crash was stolen.

Officials said the 32-year-old driver of the 2000 Ford Windstar minivan tried to pass an 18-wheeler on Tiffany Street at Barry Street Tuesday morning and cut in too close, CBS 2 reported.

The minivan hit a parked vehicle and slammed into the truck, pinning the driver's 26-year-old passenger. The passenger died a short time later at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, while the drier's condition was reported as stable.

The driver -- Jorge Flores of the Bronx -- has been charged with grand larceny of an auto and criminal possession of stolen property.
