LISTEN: Mike & Mad Dog Discuss Potential Yankees Deadline Moves During Special Simulcast

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mike and the Mad Dog teamed up again for a special simulcast Friday.

The former WFAN duo of Mike Francesa and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, who have been nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame, started their segment discussing whether the Yankees might be buyers or sellers as the trade deadline approaches.

"The Yankees will not be sellers unless they are at least six games behind the second wild card," Francesa said. "If they are any closer than that, they won't be buyers, like they weren't last year -- they're not going to be buyers under any circumstances because they're not giving away any of their kids -- but they are not going to be sellers unless they really, in the next month, have a bad month. Because if they're anywhere close, if they're four games out, five games out ... they're going to stay in it."

If the Bombers do decide to become sellers, their hottest commodities would be relievers Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller and outfielder Carlos Beltran.

"Everybody's going to want those relief pitchers -- the Cubs, Texas, Giants, the Nationals," Russo said.

"If I'm the Yankees, I try to get (Kyle) Schwarber from the Cubs," Mad Dog added.

"That's who everybody wants. That's who I want," Francesa said. "I love Schwarber. I think the Yanks do, too. He'd be their next (Jim) Thome. That's what he would do. He's a perfect DH for the future."
