Mike Francesa Predicts Jets, Fitzpatrick Will Work Things Out

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mike Francesa believes Ryan Fitzpatrick will inevitably re-sign with the Jets.

"I think he'll be on the Jets with a multiyear contract -- a three-year contract that is probably front-loaded -- because the Jets are not in a good position salary cap-wise for the year so they're not going to do a one-year deal," the WFAN host said on his show Tuesday. "They need to do it over a couple of years.

"There's really no other home for Fitzpatrick, and this is the right home for him."

Contract talks between the Jets and the free agent quarterback have been at a standstill, with the two sides reportedly millions of dollars apart.

In opening his show, Francesa also talked about the NCAA Tournament, which gets underway Tuesday night.
