Caught On Video: Flames Rip Through Taxi Cab In Midtown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A fire ripped through a taxi Monday afternoon in the heart of Midtown.

The yellow cab caught fire around 1:45 p.m. at Fifth Avenue and 38th Street around 1:45 p.m., according to the FDNY.

Photos from the scene showed the flames raging in the cab with plumes of black smoke rising into the air,

The FDNY extinguished the blaze. The driver was out of the vehicle at the time and there were no injuries, the FDNY said.
