Man Injured During Argument With Woman On Midtown Subway, NYPD Says

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a man was injured during a bizarre argument with a woman aboard a midtown subway Friday afternoon.

Investigators say after a dispute broke out and the man started spitting on the woman.

The woman fought back as their southbound E train headed towards the Port Authority bus terminal.

Police say the man then exited the train, and was inadvertently stabbed by an object in his possession.

The man was rushed to NYC Health+Hospitals/Bellevue where he's currently stable.

Police originally said the man was stabbed by the woman, who at the time was believed to have blue hair, after accidentally stepping on her foot.

Service along the A C and E lines was temporarily delayed as police sorted through the incident.
