Police: Assailant Slashed Man In Back Of Head In Midtown East

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released a surveillance image Friday evening of a suspect who slashed a man in the back of the head in Midtown East a day earlier.

Officers were called to 55th Street and Madison Avenue at 4:47 p.m. Thursday, after the 30-year-old man was slashed in the back of the head by a man he did not know, police said.

The assailant fled the scene, police said.

The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai West hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

Detectives obtained surveillance video of a suspect, from which they released an image.
