Search On For 2 Suspects In Midtown East Deli Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Friday were searching for two suspects in the robbery of a deli in Midtown East.

The robbery happened around 5:05 a.m. Friday at the Midtown Deli, at 1045 First Ave. near 57th Street, police said.

A suspect approached a store employee and asked about hookah pipes before flashing a gun and demanding, cash, police said. A second suspect acted as a lookout, police said.

The store employee handed over about $200 from the register before they ran off, police said.

The suspects were both described as black males between the ages of 20 and 25. The one who displayed the gun was wearing a blue baseball hat, a white T-shirt, and acid-washed jeans, police said.

The lookout was wearing a white T-shirt, police said.

Police have released surveillance video.
