Authorities Offer $5,000 Reward For Suspect Who Robbed Two Midtown Banks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has teamed up with the FBI to offer a reward for a suspect wanted for two bank robberies in Midtown this week.
Authorities said the first robbery happened on Tuesday around 9 a.m. The suspect walked into Valley National Bank at 100 Park Ave. with a gun and threatened a teller, demanding cash, police said. The teller did not comply and the suspect fled without any money, police said.
Then, on Friday just before noon, police said they believe the same suspect entered a Chase Bank at 2 Park Avenue South with a gun and threatened the teller. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
Luckily, no one was injured in either robbery, authorities said.
The NYPD-FBI Joint Violent Crimes Task Force is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7" tall, and weighing 140 pounds.
