Metta World Peace Now Wants To Be Referred To As 'The Panda's Friend'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Metta World Peace -- formerly known as Ron Artest -- is a quirky, quirky man.

Far from ordinary, you never know what the Queens native is going to do next.

He always keeps it interesting.

The veteran forward, who played 29 games for the Knicks last season, is currently a member of the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Now in a new continent, World Peace has decided to change his name -- again. Though it hasn't been changed legally, the former NBA All-Star would like to be referred to as "The Panda's Friend."

Expect more craziness from World Peace as his season in China rolls in. He intends to make the most of his time in Asia.
