Mets, Fans Hope To Dodge Raindrops On Opening Day
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The dreary weather is threatening to put a damper on the Mets' Opening Day.
The forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain Monday, although much of it is expected to pass by the time the Mets and Nationals begin play at Citi Field at 1:10 p.m.
Dante, a Queens resident, told WCBS 880's Monica Miller, when he thinks of Opening Day, he generally thinks "about nice sunny-day games, hot dogs and fans."
Dante was trying to stay dry in Times Square on Sunday under the bill of his Yankees cap. He said the season is looking up now that he's rooting for a new team after too much heartache.

"I was raised as a Mets fan, but then I converted not too long ago," Dante said.
Mayor Bill de Blasio isa devoted Red Sox fan, but that won't stop him from tossing out the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field on Monday.
Mets right-hander Dillon Gee will face Washington ace Stephen Strasburg.
The Yankees open their season Tuesday at Houston.
