After Satisfying Win, Mets Gear Up For Game 4 Against Dodgers

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Matt Harvey didn't hit anyone with any pitches last night, but the Mets still got some sweet revenge in game three of the division series against the Dodgers.

"I thought it was great, they got their revenge without hitting any players," Peter Cervasio, of Whitestone, told CBS2's Diane Macedo. "It was a great, great game and I hope they do it tonight."

Met fans showed their anger at Chase Utley for the controversial slide that broke shortstop Ruben Tejadas leg Saturday night.  Things weren't looking so great in the beginning, as the Dodgers took a 3-0 lead in the second.

"I couldn't believe it, I was like 'typical Mets' you know, "John Smith, of Bayside, said. "They're going to have bases loaded and nobody out -- and not score."

But the Mets quickly responded with a run of their own, followed by three more thanks to Curtis Granderson. From there they never looked back -- ending with a final score of 13-7.

"Hats off to the fans, hats off to Grandey [Granderson] for getting them going," Daniel Murphy, second baseman for the New York Mets, said.

Before the game, the record crowd of more than 44,000 people at Citified gave the injured Ruben Tejada a standing ovation.

"For him to come in today, and provide us with that emotional lift, I think was big," Mets captain David Wright said of Tejada. "I think it's a good rallying cry for us to, you know, go out there and try to take this series for him."

Tonight the Mets will have the home-field advantage again at Citi Field. Pitcher Clayton Kershaw will try to keep the Los Angeles Dodgers alive, while Steven Matz tries to clinch for the Mets.

"I'm not really looking at it as a fan. Kinda taking the emotions out of it. We've got a job to do and that's win the game," he said.

As a rookie who's dealt with various injuries this year, Matz hasn't had nearly as much experience as his rival. But as a Stony Brook, Long Island native, he definitely has plenty of fans rooting for him.

"He's young he's homegrown, he finally got through his injuries and he's ready to go," John Scarano, of Newburgh, said.

Game four kicks off at Citi Field just after 8 p.m.
