Metro-North Train Strikes Plow Truck In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- A Metro-North train collided with a plow truck on Sunday morning, Metro-North officials said. No passengers were aboard the train.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. The truck drove onto a crossing at Riverbend Drive, on the New Canaan branch, and got stuck, CBS affiliate WFSB-TV reported.

A patrol train failed to stop in time, striking it. The plow driver was inside the truck when it was hit, but no injuries were reported, WFSB said.

Metro-North service was suspended Sunday morning due to Saturday's blizzard.

There was no extensive damage to the train, officials said.
