Metro North resumes service in New Canaan after non-passenger train partially derails

The fire department said the work train, which did not have any passengers on board, failed to stop at the end of the line, went off the tracks and crashed into a buffer.
The conductor suffered minor injuries.

Service was suspended for most of the day but has since been restored.
Metro North and MTA police are investigating the cause of the derailment.
