Metro-North Trains Delayed After Truck Gets Wedged Under 125th Street Overpass
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Metro-North Trains were delayed Monday night, after a truck got stuck under the 125th Street overpass in Harlem.
The truck became stuck in the 125th Street overpass adjacent to the 125th Street-Harlem station at Park Avenue. It was being removed late Monday.
The truck was carrying water cooling tower components and belonged to McLaughlin Trucking out of Riley, Kansas, CBS2's Jessica Schneider reported. The driver refused to comment.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said as of the 10 p.m. hour, two tracks were open on the Harlem Line and two were closed.
Metro-North trains on all lines were running at a reduced speed as a result of the accident, and were delayed 5 to 10 minutes in both directions.
The MTA said crews are working to determine whether the overpass was damaged.
It was not known whether the problems would affect the Tuesday morning commute.
