Memorial Day Travel Expected To Hit Record Low Due To COVID-19

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Memorial Day weekend travel is expected to hit a record low this year.

Airports that are usually bustling with activity at this time are now quiet. Air travel is down 88% due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Roads will be empty as well. A Harris Poll found that 95% of the population believes it is too soon to travel.

For the first time in 20-years, AAA isn't releasing a Memorial Day travel forecast because millions of people just aren't going anywhere.
