NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his New York City Housing Authority team Saturday.

De Blasio introduced Shola Olatoye as chairwoman of the New York City Housing Authority.

Cecil House will retain his position as the authority's general manager.

Vicki Been was named the incoming commissioner of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

The mayor selected Gary Rodney as the next president of the Housing Development Corp., which finances affordable housing. Rodney had been working for a private developer of affordable units.

While running for mayor, de Blasio promised to create hundreds of thousands of low- and middle-income homes.

He made the announcements at the Lincoln Houses in Harlem, where several mayoral candidates spent a night during the campaign last year.
