3.1 Million Tommee Tippee Baby Cups Recalled Over Mold Exposure Risk

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayborn USA is recalling more than 3 million of their spill-proof baby cups from the "Tommee Tippee" sippie cup line.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the cup's removable valve can develop mold if not cleaned well, CBS2 reported.

Five varieties of cups are affected by the recall, including First Sips Transition cup, Trainer Sippee cup, Sippee cup, Sportee bottle and Insulated Swiggle/Sippee tumblers.

The cups were sold at a number of national retailers, including BuyBuyBaby, Target, Sam's Club, Walgreens, Walmart, Kohl's, CVS and olnie at Babyhaven.com, Amazon.com and Diapers.com. between December 2014 and May 2016.

The products were priced between $4 and $7.

Mayborn has received over 3,066 complaints of mold found in the cups, and 68 children have become sick from the product, the agency says.

Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and to contact Mayborn for a refund.
