Police: Knifepoint Robbery In Massapequa Park Fits Crime Pattern

MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island are looking for a suspect who they say has robbed several Dunkin Donut shops.

The latest incident happened at Dunkin Donuts on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Nassau County police said a man fitting the description from three March robberies entered the store, displayed a large kitchen knife and demanded cash from the register. He then fled on foot with an unknown amount of money, police said.

A man fitting the same description also robbed a 7-11 store in Old Bethpage in March, police said.

The suspect was described by an employee from the most recent robbery as a 35-year-old man, about 6-feet-tall with a medium build, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black gloves and a black scarf covering his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
