Manhattan DA: Criminal Charge Against Harvey Weinstein 'Not Supported'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Manhattan District Attorney's office said Friday it is declining to pursue charges against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Weinstein was accused of groping a 22-year-old Italian model at the Tribeca Film Center in March.

"This case was taken seriously from the outset, with a thorough investigation conducted by our Sex Crimes Unit," said Joan Vollero of the District Attorney's office. "After analyzing the available evidence, including multiple interviews with both parties, a criminal charge is not supported."

Weintein was accused by the model of asking if her breasts were real and then grabbing them, CBS2's Jessica Schneider reported, citing sources. The model also alleged that Weinstein tried to put his hand up her skirt and asked for a kiss, Schneider reported.

Weinstein has been married to Georgina Chapman in 2007. Chapman is the co-founder of fashion label Marchesa.

Weinstein is the co-founder of Miramax movie studio and has produced a host of hit movies including "Gangs of New York" and "Shakespeare In Love."
