Man Posing As Courier Steals Thousands In Merchandise From High-End Retailers

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with three grand larcenies in Manhattan.

Police said that in each incident the suspect entered a store and presented himself as a messenger from a courier service.

On May 13, at 3 p.m. the suspect entered a Madison Avenue Dolce and Gabanna on the Upper East Side, and left with shoes, a handbag, a dress, and gold earrings totaling approximately $15,000.

On May 19 at 3:15 p.m. the suspect entered a Paul Smith clothing boutique on Greene Street in SoHo and walked off with three t-shirts worth $2,000 and additional articles of clothing valued at $3,000.

On May 19, at 4 p.m. the suspect entered Balenciaga on West 22nd Street in Chelsea, and left with a shirt, trousers, and sunglasses valued at $3,200.

The suspect has been described as a white male with gray hair. He is approximately 5'10" and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans, brown boots, and a messenger bag.
